🌟 Stargazing, Sushi Rolling & More | This Week in Cheyenne

Plus: The Comea Comedy Show takes place Friday at the Cheyenne Civic Center.

Gather at dusk to hear about the stars and planets and use the big telescope at Adult Science Night: Stargazing, at the Laramie County Public Library on Tuesday, Sept 26 at 7:30 p.m.

Monday, Sept 25th

Will Read for Beer | 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. | Freedom's Edge Brewing Co, 1509 Pioneer Ave | Free to attend | Grab a pint and join in on this book club. The group decides on which new books to read and meets up to enjoy conversation, beer and share love for reading.

Tuesday, Sept 26th

Adult Science Night: Stargazing | 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. | Laramie County Public Library, 2200 Pioneer Ave | Free to attend | Look towards the night sky during this stargazing event that will allow you to use the library’s big telescope. Gather at dusk to hear about the stars and planets that are starting to appear and gaze until closing time.

Wednesday, Sept 27th

Flower Power Palette Knife Painting | 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. | Cheyenne Creativity Center, 1620 Thomes Ave | $25 | Looking for a fun alternative painting session? Local artist, Tati Thompson, introduces the group to knife painting in this workshop is geared towards anyone who has a general understanding of painting.

Wind Down Wednesday | 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. | The Magical Space, 1623 Central Ave | $10 | Clear your mind and melt stress away by joining this group for relaxing, guided meditation experience.

Thursday, Sept 28th

Thrifted Monsters | 6:00 p.m. | Freedom's Edge Brewing Co, 1509 Pioneer Ave | $35 | Join Magpie Creations to paint monsters, ghoulies and other things on thrift store found art. A few thrifted art pieces and painting supplies will be available but feel free to get out and discover your own thrifted art to bring to the session.

Sushi Rolling Experience | 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. | Railspur, 707 W Lincolnway | $75 | Chef Juan Coronado will guide this class through preparing authentic hand-rolled spicy tuna rolls and sashimi display to enjoy with Japanese inspired cocktails or mock-tails.

Friday, Sept 29th

Seed Collecting | 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. | Cheyenne Botanic Gardens, 710 S Lions Park Dr | $5 | Horticulturist Jessica Friis will lead this guided walk around the Gardens to learn how to collect seeds and grow them yourself. She'll highlight annual and perennial flowers that are easy to grow from seed and that do well in Cheyenne's climate. Take home any seeds you collect.

Comea Comedy Show | 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. | Cheyenne Civic Center, 510 W 20th St | $15-$25 | If you're ready for a night of laughs, you won't want to miss Comea Comedy featuring comedian Vinnie Montez with special guest John Novosad.

Nightmare on 17th Street Haunted House | 7:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. | The Cheyenne Knights of Pythias, 312 1/2 W 17th St | $10, with costume | Prepared to be scared. It's opening weekend for one of Cheyenne's longest running haunted houses. Wear a costume of a special admission fee of only $10.

Young Frankenstein - Opening Night (Also Sat 9/30 & Sun 10/1) | 7:30 p.m. | Mary Godfrey Playhouse, 2706 E Pershing Blvd | $18-$28 | Follow along the journey of the grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, Frederick Frankenstein as he inherits his family's estate in Transylvania.

Dogtoberfest | 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. | Freedom's Edge Brewing Co, 1509 Pioneer Ave | Free to attend | The Cheyenne Animal Shelter and Freedom’s Edge Brewery team up for a festive street party that will feature a costume parade (for pets and people), food trucks, beer, "Wiener Dog Measuring" and the annual “Running of the Wieners” Wiener Dog Races!

Cheyenne Roller Derby | 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. | Roller City Cheyenne, 5506 Weaver Rd | $10, 12 & under Free | The excitment and action of roller derby will be on display as the Capidolls take on the Bitter Sweet Bombshells.

🥩 Upcoming: In the first of a series, Vol 1 of the “West Edge Dinner Club” will take place on Thursday, October 5th and is billed as an “Underground” themed dinner club. Wood Fire, Whiskey, & Wyoming is the focus as Chef Seth Stefanik creates a five course wood-fire themed Chef’s Table event. Join Chef Stefanik at Railspur for an evening you won’t soon forget featuring cuts from Harding Ranch - some of Wyoming best beef - perfect cocktails to pair from Pine Bluffs distillery and a “tall tale” or two.
